Vikki Carr (19 July 1941) Born in El Paso, Texas. Her birthname is Florencia Bisenta de Casillas Martinez Cardona. American songstress. Carr can't be placed in one particular music genre. She sang jazz, pop and country music. Toured Vietnam with Danny Kaye in 1966. Had a big hit in 1967 with It must be him and With pen in hand in 1969. She made it to the top 40 three times in the late sixties (It must be him reached #3).Taped six Vikki Carr Specials for London Weekend TV in 1968.
Had enormous success in the Latin music world in the eighties and nineties. Won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album in 1992. Has been a big seller up until now. Had another #1 album in the Latin market in 2004.
