Vendsyssel Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Vendsyssel (Vendsyssel-Thy) is the northmost part of the Jutland Peninsula (Denmark). Since 1825 Vendsyssel has been separated from Jutland by Limfjord; because of that it is sometimes called the second largest island of Denmark.
An ancient Germanic tribe recorded in Jutland, the Vandals, may have had their original homeland in the Vendsyssel and taken their name from it.
