Valdosta State University is a public university located in the city of Valdosta, Georgia in the United States, and is part of the University System of Georgia.

The university was founded in 1906 as South Georgia State Normal College, becoming Georgia State Women's College in 1922. In 1950, the college begun admitting male students and changed its name to Valdosta State College. On July 1, 1993, the university took its current title.

The campus covers 168 acres or 67 hectares, and the university has a student body of 9,300 from 48 states and 50 countries.
