The Unification Theological Seminary, located in Barrytown, New York, began its first classes in September 1975. Serving the Unification Church through graduate education in theology and sponsoring ecumenical conferences, the seminary has had three presidents: David Kim (1975-94), Theodore Shimmyo (1994-2000) and Dr. Tyler Hendricks (2000 to date).Renowned scholars such as Harvey Cox, Herbert Richardson, Richard Quebedeaux, M. Darroll Bryant, Ninian Smart, Frederick Sontag taught courses there or spoken at its seminars and inter-religious forums.
