The Umbrella tree Magnolia tripetala is a large and hardy tropical plant with big shiny leaves, spreading from thin stems attached to a number of woody trunks emerging from a thick rooty base. Umbrella trees are native to Queensland and the Northern Territory, Australia. In a natural setting the Umbrella Tree can grow 10 metres. In some countries around the world the plant is grown in pots indoors.These trees are attractive and easy to grow. Umbrella trees do well from a severe pruning. The leaves will turn yellow when the soil doesn't contain enough water.
