Tyndall effect Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
The Tyndall effect, named for the Irish scientist John Tyndall, describes a phenomenon relating to a colloid (a combination of substances which is 'more combined' than a mixture but 'less combined' than a solution). For example, the Tyndall effect describes the phenomenon noticeable when light shining through the rafters of a building illuminates previously invisible particles of dust in the air. The effect is also noticable when car headlamps are used in fog.
