Treaty of Limerick Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
This was part of the Williamite war in Ireland with the Jacobites.The Treaty of Limerick was signed on October 3 1691 by Patrick Sarsfield for king James II and lords justices for William III.
Part of the treaty was that the Irish Army had to leave Ireland. The army was marched south to Cork and embarked on French Ships for France. This became known as the Flight of the Wild Geese.
It has been said that the ink was not dry on the treaty before the English started to break it.
