Transport phenomena Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
In physics, transport phenomena are the various mechanisms by which things or quantities can move from one place to another. The three common examples are diffusion, convection and radiation. There are three main types of transport phenomena:
- Heat transfer,
- Mass transfer, and
- Fluid dynamics (or Momentum transfer)
Both heat and atomic particles can travel either by diffusion or by radiation.
Momentum in a liquid can travel by diffusion, in the case of laminar flow, or by mixing, in the case of turbulent flow.
