Toranosuke Takagi(高木虎之介),born February 12, 1974 is a Japanese automobile racing driver.

He was born Shizuoka city,Shizuoka Prefecture,Japan

His race career was started from kart in response to the influence of the his father who was a Touring car driver. It graduated from Formula Toyota in 1992. And it stepped up to All Japan Formula 3 in 1993. During All Japan Formula 3 participation in 1994, it stopped at Satoru Nakajima's eyes. And it came out for the second half of the game of All Japan Formula 3000 from Nakajima Racing. He was on the register and played an active part in 1995, 1996, and 1997 with Nakajima Racing. He received backup, was chosen as Tyrrell's Formula One test driver in 1997, and repeated the test run. He came out as 6th Japanese Formula One driver as regular with Tyrrell in 1998. The work of his operation of Formula One of evaluation in Europe was high. However, he who was troubled by that Tyrrell and Arrows who were on the register was not blessed with organization, and that his language was not perfect was not able to leave a result which considered. In Indy 500 in 2003, it started from the 7th place and a prize of the highest grade and the 5th becoming place was won as a Japanese. The Rooke Of The Year prize was won. Personal best grade and the 3rd becoming place were recorded on the Texas . And evaluation in the United States also increased.

  • 2002 -- Finished 15th in CART point standings with Walker Racing. -- Finished in the top-10 seven times, including tying career-best finish with a fourth place at Chicago.

  • 2003 -- Finished 10th in IRL IndyCar Series point standings in rookie year driving for Mo Nunn Racing. -- Scored nine top-10 finishes, including a season-best third in June at Texas. -- Started seventh and finished fifth in first Indianapolis 500, the highest-finishing rookie. Voted bank One Rookie of the Year.
