Tony Granato (born July 25, 1964 in Downers Grove, Illinois, USA) is an American former National Hockey League leftwinger and current head coach of the Colorado Avalanche. He was drafted by the New York Rangers in the 1982 NHL Entry Draft, Sixth Round, One-hundred Twentieth Overall. He has played for the New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. In 1997, while with the Sharks, Granato recieved the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy. He has been the head coach since December 18, 2002.Cammi Granato, who is probably the United States' best-known female hockey player, is his younger sister.
