A modern Telecom company based in Italy, expressing avant-garde techniques on the Internet . Based in Sardinia, it expanded quickly during the dot.com boom, acquiring, in quick succession, World Online (Holland), Liberty Surf (France) and LineOne (UK). This growth made it the third largest Internet Service Provider in Europe. Its founder, Renato Soru, was elected president of the Sardinian Autonomous Region in 2004. The company was named for the nuragic village (see above).
