The Walrus Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
The Walrus is a Canadian general interest magazine which publishes long form journalism on Canadian and international affairs, along with fiction and poetry by Canadian writers. It launched in September, 2003, as an attempt to create a Canadian equivalent to American magazines such as Harper's, Atlantic Monthly or The New Yorker.Originally launched as a bimonthly, the magazine's two 2003 issues alone garnered eleven National Magazine Award nominations and three wins. The magazine was also praised by many Canadian media outlets as one of the best new Canadian publications.
Journalists associated with the magazine include Ken Alexander, David Berlin, Andrew Heintzman and Lisa Rundle. The magazine's current editor is Catherine Osborne.
