The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul is a 1988 science fiction detective novel by Douglas Adams. It is the second book by Adams featuring private detective Dirk Gently. The novel's title is a phrase which appeared in Adams's earlier novel Life, The Universe and Everything, but the novels are not otherwise related.

When one of Dirk's clients, who had retained him on the bizarre pretext that he was being stalked by a green-eyed monster with a scythe, is unexpectedly murdered by a green-eyed monster with a scythe, Dirk embarks on an investigation that involves exploding airport check-in counters, the gods of Norse mythology, a sinister nursing home, rhinophagic eagles, the I Ching, and a god who sold his soul to a lawyer.
