The Living End Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

The Living End is an Australian alternative/punk rock/rockabilly band. To date, they have released three studio albums in Australia. They have been gaining success in the United States, and have recently been touring with Jet and The Vines on the Aussie Invasion Tour there. The band regularly tours Australia.

The band conisists of singer, songrwiter and guitarist Chris Cheney, bass player Scott Owen and drummer Andy Strachan. The original drummer was Trav Demsey.

The debut self titled album was instantly a hit with Australian audiences and resulted in six Australian singles (counting the Second Solution release as two because both songs received major airplay). Prisoner of Society became an anthem in 1997/1998.

The Roll On album in 2000 was a more creative work, but did not manage to achieve the nt status of their earlier album.

The band hit a quiet period after that during which Chris Cheney had a tragic car rendering him unable to play for a significant period of time.

In 2003, after Chris's recover and with a new drummer, the band made a comeback, releaseing One Said to the Other/What Would You Do? and ting air play once again. This was followed by heavy touring (including Big Day Out) and a release of Modern ARTillery. In late 2004, the band has released a singles collection as well as a DVD.
