The Gandharvas are a Canadian rock band from London, Ontario. The band formed sometime in the 1990s. Their name comes from Gandharvas, musical spirits in Hinduism. In 1994 they were signed to the Watch Music label and released A Soap Bubble and Inertia. The album included the single "The First Day of Spring," which was named Song of the Year by The Edge 102.1 in Toronto. In 1995 they released Swimming in the Water and signed with MCA Records. Their 1998 release Sold for a Smile included the singles "Downtime" and "Watching the Girl."
