Tehnikum (Russian: техникум) is a Soviet mass-education facility similar to PTU, but specializing in high-tech occupations (such as electronics) or aimed to train low-level industrial managers (foremen, technical supervisors etc.) Thus tehnikum may be regarded as a technically oriented analogue to Western two-year college.
