Sweet Home Alabama is a classic song by the 1970s rock 'n' roll band Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was written as a reply to "Southern Man", a song by Neil Young, and is intended as a defense of the South. Young was reportedly a fan of the song. It appears on their 1974 album Second Helping.It was featured in the movies Sweet Home Alabama and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003).
