Supreme Council of Antiquities Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

Part of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, the Supreme Council of Antiquities (commonly abbreviated SCA) is responsible for the conservation, protection and regulation of all antiquities and archaeological excavations in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The SCA was previously known as the Egyptian Antiquities Organization (commonly abbreviated EAO).

The current Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities is Dr Zahi Hawass (since 2002).
