Steve Dallas Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Steve Dallas was a fictional unscrupulous lawyer who never won a single case in the 1980s comic strip Bloom County, by Berke Breathed. The only work he usually got was to defend hopeless cases like insane murderers, much to the chagrin of his overbearing mother. A bachelor throughout the entire run of the strip, he was the most aggressive womanizer and most blatant male chauvinist of all the eligible males in the cartoon.All this changed in 1988, when Steve was abducted by aliens and had his brain scrambled aboard their UFO. He was zapped back to earth a few days later, and to the shock of all, his personality had been flopped. He was now sensitive, caring, and, most shockingly of all, stopped wearing his trademark sunglasses and got a perm.
This carried on for about a year, until he put his trademark sunglasses back on (three weeks before Bloom County ended) and his personality flopped back to its normal, cantankerous self.
Steve first appeared in The Academia Waltz (Berke Breathed's first cartoon), making him one of the earliest of Breathed's characters (the other being Cutter John).
