St Pancras was a Roman citizen who converted to Christianity, and was beheaded for his faith at the age of just 14 around the year 304. Some of his relics found their way to England, which is why many of the nation's churches are dedicated to this saint. He is a patron saint of children.St Pancras is also the name of a former metropolitan borough that became part of the London Borough of Camden and is now best known for its mainline railway station which will become the new terminus for the Eurostar services through the Channel Tunnel.
