Spiritualized Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Spiritualized is an
English rock band that was formed in 1991 in
Rugby, Warwickshire by Jason Pierce, former singer of
Spacemen 3. He is still frequently known as Jason Spaceman. The style of Spiritualized is best described as
psychedelic rock. Earlier albums tended to fall within the
shoegazing style. With
Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space, influences from
African-American gospel and
blues began to creep in, and
wall of sound influences from
Phil Spector and
Brian Wilson began to predominate, which came to a head on
Let It Come Down.
Amazing Grace favored a more stripped down sound with the gospel, blues, and soul influences heavier than ever. The members of Spiritualized change from album to album; the only constant is Jason Pierce.
