Seakale (Crambe maritima, Brassicaceae) is a perennial vegetable grown for shoots which are blanched in the spring by covering the plant with a pot or box. It is more commonly used in Europe and only rarely grown in the United States. It grows wild along the coast of western Europe and is very salt-tolerant, but can be raised in ordinary garden soil.
