Robert Davis Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Representing those that chose to remain neutral in the American Revolutionary War, Robert Davis is known for taking a stand against Patriot "Committees of Safety." These committees served to supply the Continental Army with material and money. Often, these groups, organized in each town, sought to collect items from the locals. The non-associators were so great in number that these Patriots were defied.Davis is best known for the quote, "Stand off you damned rebel sons of bitches, I will shoot you if you come any nearer."
