Persian garden Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Gardens have always represented images of paradise to the Persians. The origin of the Persian gardens have been estimated to go back to 4000 B.C. On the decorated pottery of that time are found the typical cross plan of the Persian gardens. Persian gardens are normally divided into four quarters, representing the world. In this standard plan which is called چهارباغ Chahar bagh (four gardens), one axis maybe longer than the other, water channels run through the four gardens and connect to a central pool.Sources: Newton Wilber, D., Persian gardens and garden pavilions, Washington 1979.
