Paul Slovic (b. 1938) is a professor of psychology at the University of Oregon and the president of the Decision Research group. He earned his PhD in psychology at the University of Michigan in 1964.Slovic has studied psychological heuristics with frequent coauthors Daniel Kahneman, Amos Tversky and Thomas Gilovich, and first theorized the affect heuristic.
