Osteocyte Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
An osteocyte is a spider-shaped cell which occurs in bone. They each occupy a cavity in the inorganic bone material called a lacuna (Latin for a pit), and have long processes which connect through small tunnels called canaliculi to adjacent osteocytes and through which nutrients are passed to keep them alive.
