Norman Cohn (born 12 January 1915) is British historian, now Emeritus Astor-Wolfson Professor at the University of Sussex. He was born into a Jewish family in London. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford, serving for six years in the British Army from 1939. He then held a number of academic positions, before a first appointment at Sussex in 1963.He is known for a number of major books, beginning with The Pursuit of the Millennium in 1957, followed by Warrant for Genocide in 1970, a scholarly study on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and Europe's Inner Demons (1975).
