Native command queueing Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Native command queueing is a disc technology designed to increase performance and endurance of SATA hard disks by allowing hard disks to internally optimise the execution order of workloads. Native Command Queuing allows the hard disk to dynamically change the order in which the read/write requests are done. This speeds up those applications that are multi-threaded. Some versions of Seagate and Maxtor hard disks support NCQ.This technology requires the enabling of the Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) in the BIOS and for the installation of the Intel Application Accelerator software.
