Monotonic Greek script is the standard way of writing the Dhimotiki form of modern Greek. It's a simplified form of the Polytonic Greek script where the grave accent (daseía) and the tilde (perispoméni) have been substituted with the acute accent (okseía), and the spiritus lenis (psilí) and spiritus asper (daseía) are abolished.
