Monotonic Greek script is the standard way of writing the
Dhimotiki form of
modern Greek. It's a simplified form of the
Polytonic Greek script where the
grave accent (
daseía) and the
tilde (
perispoméni) have been substituted with the
acute accent (
okseía), and the
spiritus lenis (
psilí) and
spiritus asper (
daseía) are abolished.
