Mike Blueberry is a comic book character created in the early sixties by Jean-Michel Charlier and Jean Giraud, and quickly developed into one of the best selling series in French comics. Blueberry began the series as a Lieutenant in the US Cavalry short after the American Civil War. Blueberry's real name is Mike Steve Donovan. After fleeing home, he joins the US army under the name Mike Blueberry. He is accompanied by his hard-drinking deputy, Jimmy.
