Mifare Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

Mifare is reputedly the most widely installed contactless smartcard technology in the world with 250 million smart card chips and 1.5 million readers module sold. It is equivalent to ISO 14443 Type A 13.56 Mhz contactless smart card with typical read/write distance of 10cm (4 inch). It is owned by Philips Austria GmbH.

History

  • 1994 - Mifare standard 1k contactless technology introduced.
