Details, Explanation and Meaning About Michigan Stadium

Michigan Stadium Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

Michigan Stadium, aka the Big House, is the football stadium for the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was built in 1927, and now seats 107,501. The one extra seat is saved for Fritz Crisler, although its location is not specified. Almost every football game sells out, so most residents of Ann Arbor are aware of "football Saturdays" because of the bad traffic. The size of the audience in the stadium comes close to matching the population of the city during games.

The natural turf was switched to FieldTurf, an artificial surface designed to give grass-like playing characteristics, in 2003.

Michigan Stadium is also the site of University of Michigan graduation ceremonies.
