In the fictional Star Trek universe, Memory Alpha was a repository for the collected cultural, literary, and historical knowledge of every member of the United Federation of Planets.In 2269, Memory Alpha was attacked by a group of noncorporeal life-forms known as the Zetarians. In their search for a compatible humanoid body to host their consciousnesses, they caused the deaths of every librarian and researcher on Memory Alpha and severe damage to the library's main database. Memory Alpha is also the name of a Wiki based on the MediaWiki software. It is a collaborative project to create the most definitive, accurate, and accessible encyclopedia and reference for everything related to Star Trek. Memory Alpha was launched in November 2003.
