Marshall Harvey Stone (April 8, 1903–January 9, 1989) was a American mathematician who made several important contributions in various areas of mathematical analysis, including in particular functional analysis. He also contributed to the theory of Boolean algebras.Results which bear his name today include:
- Stone-von Neumann theorem
- Stone-Weierstrass theorem
- Stone-Čech compactification;
- Stone's representation theorem for Boolean algebras
- Stone-Tukey theorem.
