Mallrats Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Mallrats is a 1995 movie by filmmaker Kevin Smith, part of his 5-episode View Askewniverse or New Jersey films series. It stars several regular cast members of Smith's movies, including Jason Lee, Ben Affleck, and Joey Lauren Adams. The plot deals with several teenagers and their misadventures in a New Jersey mall.Jay and Silent Bob figure prominently in the movie as well, as they do throughout this series of Smith's films.
Comic book icon Stan Lee made a brief cameo appearance, as did musical artist Weird Al Yankovic.
Mallrats was the subject of much critical derision when it was released, with many critics comparing it extremely unfavorably to Smith's prior film, Clerks. Smith even went so far as to apologize for Mallrats, although he later revealed the apology to be in jest.
