Louis V. Gerstner, Jr. is the former CEO and Chairman of IBM Corporation, which he led from 1993 until March 2002. He was formerly CEO of RJR Nabisco, and also held senior positions at American Express and McKinsey & Company;. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College.An exceedingly wealthy man thanks to his share options, he was considered heartless and self-centred when he sold the IBM Wangaratta Plant employees in Australia off to a start-up company which subsequently failed, leaving several hundred employees out of work and not allowing them back into IBM.
