Liu Biao (?-208 AD) was a the governor of the Jing province in China during the end of the Han dynasty. His army killed Sun Jian, the founder of the kingdom of Wu. Liu Biao's forces were consequently defeated by Sun Ce and later Sun Quan. Liu Biao sheltered Liu Bei after he fled the Yuans to unite with his brothers,alothough his realations with him were often strained thanks to the meddling of Cai Mao and Lady Cai, who drove him off during a failed assaination attempt . Liu Biao later allowed himself to be controlled by his officer and brother-in-law, Cai Mao, and his army fell into ruin. He later died after a long illness, handing custody of his children to Liu Bei, perhaps his msot trusted ally.
