  • (*) Prior to 1888 governments in Manitoba were non-partisan; however, these chief ministers and premiers were personally identified with the Conservative Party.
  • (**)The United Farmers of Manitoba party became the Progressive Party in 1928. After 1928 the government was a Liberal-Progressive coalition and during the war the CCF, Social Credit and the Conservatives joined the coalition. The Conservatives remained until 1950.
