Note: Australia, at approx. 7,600,000 km², is generally considered to be a continental landmass, rather than an island. If however one does count Australia among the islands it, not Greenland, would be the largest in the world, and to find what the rank of a given island would be, just add one to the number given above (unless one also considered Antarctica an island, in which case you add TWO to the number given above).''
