Lewis Libby Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Jr. (born August 22, 1950) is a lawyer and United States Vice President Dick Cheney's Chief of Staff and Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs.

Libby started his government career in the the State Department in 1981 under President Ronald Reagan. He has also, at various times in his long career, held positions with the American Bar Association, the Rand Corporation, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. House of Representatives (as a Legal Advisor).

Libby graduated from Yale University in 1972, and from Columbia University's law school in 1975. He also wrote The Apprentice, a novel published in 1996.

In 2003 and 2004, intense speculation about Libby centered around the possibility that he may have been the administration official who "outed" Valerie Plame, an undercover CIA agent for political gain. The grand jury investigating the Plame leak has yet to hand down any indictments.
