Language code Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
A
language code is a system that assigns short codes to
languages. Language codes are used by computers to record the language a document or piece of text is written in, so that programs can choose a dictionary for spell-checking, a font for display, whether the text should be set left-to-right or right-to-left, and algorithms for collating, sorting, searching, hyphenation, and many other automatable tasks.
The best known language codes are ISO 639 and the SIL code.
