La Brèche de Roland Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
La Brèche de Roland is an impressive, 40 mtrs across, 100 mtrs high, natural gap in the the steep cliffs of the Cirque De Gavarnie which form part of the border between France and Spain in the Pyrenees. According to legend the Breche was cut using sword blows by Earl Roland (a nephew of Charlemagne), attempting to escape the Saracens.
