Jim Ladd (born January 17, 1948) is the last remaining freeform rock 'n' roll Disc Jockey in United States. He served as inspiration for the 2002 Tom Petty album The Last DJ. In his career he has become friends with many rock legends such as John Lennon, Petty, and Jackson Browne and original MTV veejay J. J. Jackson. Ladd appeared on Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters' first solo album Radio K.A.O.S. as the DJ Jim and joined Waters on the tour that followed and appeared in the three music videos for the album. He can currently be found playing freeform rock 'n' roll on KLOS in Los Angeles weeknights from 10 p. m. to 2 a.m. Ladd is slated to recieve a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2005.
