Jean Acker (23 October, 1893–16 August, 1978) was an American actor.Acker was born to a part Cherokee father and Irish mother. She attended school in New Jersey and performed vaudeville before becoming a screen actress, when she moved to California. While there, she got involved with the actress Grace Darmond and ended up marrying Rudolph Valentino on November 6, 1919 to disguise her Lesbian tendencies at a party, and they became friends. After a two-month courtship, he asked her to marry him and she accepted. Valentino never divorced and soon was charged with bigamy when he married his second wife Natacha Rambova. Acker sued for the legal right to call herself "Mrs. Rudolph Valentino," and Valentino remained angry at her for several years. They did rekindle their friendship before his death in 1926 and she wrote a song about him soon after he died called "We Will Meet at the End of the Trail." She played bit parts in films until the early 1950s and lived with her companion Chloe Carter in Beverly Hills. She died in 1978 at the age of eighty-five and is buried in Los Angeles, California.
