Jane Francesca, Lady Wilde (
1826 -
February 3,
1896) was an
Irish poet and nationalist; she was the wife of
Sir William Wilde and mother of
Oscar Wilde. Her works included pro-Irish independence and anti-
British works under the
pseudonymn Speranza; sometimes known as “Speranza of the Nation”.
