Interstate 210 Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description

Interstate 210 is the name of two distinct interstate highway spur routes of Interstate 10 in the United States.

California

Interstate 210, also known as the Foothill Freeway, is a 48.7 mile east-west interstate in the Greater Los Angeles metropolitan area of Southern California.

Interstate 210 runs from Interstate 5 at the northern edge of the San Fernando Valley, near the Sylmar district of Los Angeles, to Interstate 10 just north of Pomona in the San Gabriel Valley. An approximately 30-mile extension and renaming of I-210 is currently underway and is expected to be completed by about 2007. When the extension is complete, I-210 should extend eastward to Interstate 10 in Redlands, east of San Bernardino in the Inland Empire. Much of this eastern part of the future I-210 extension is actually already in use, but it is presently designated as California State Route 210.

As of 2004, Interstate 210 (not counting the planned extensions or the route of California 210) passes through the following cities:

Louisiana

Interstate 210 in Louisiana is a 12.4 mile bypass route in Lake Charles, in the southwestern part of the state. I-210 passes to the south of Lake Charles, connecting with Interstate 10 at both I-210's western terminus and its eastern terminus.
