On an endangered planet, Data (Star Trek) meets a woman who claims to be his mother. Soon it is confirmed that Juliana Tainer is the widow of Dr. Noonien Soong, and she tells Data about his "childhood". Tainer suffers an accident and Data discovers that the biological Tainer had died and was transferred into an android body by Soong.
