The Hani people (own name: Haqniq, Chinese: 哈尼族 Hānízú) are an ethnic group. They form one of the 56 nationalities officially recognized by the People's Republic of China. Most of them live in Yunnan province.
The orogins of the Hani was obsolete. They are believed to have migrated from Tibet a long time ago.
Hani are also felinoid aliens from C. J. Cherryh's Compact space series of science fiction novels.
