Guy, Duke of Brittany Guide, Meaning , Facts, Information and Description
Guy of Thouars was Duke of Brittany between 1203 and 1206, succeeding his stepson Arthur I. He was the second husband of duchess Constance. Guy’s rule, however, was based on thin criteria and king Philip II of France took control of the duchy soon afterwards. Eventually he gave Brittany to his cousin Peter of Dreux, married to Alix of Thouars, Guy and Constance’s daughter.
