Golden Sun (or Ougon no Taiyo in Japan) is an RPG-series currently consisting of two games made by Camelot for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance. The original Golden Sun was released in 2001 and the sequel which continues where the original ended, although with a different set of characters, Golden Sun: The Lost Age was released in early 2003. The series is generally more highly regarded than not by RPG fans.
Important elements are psynergy (a form of telekinesis) and the Pocket Monsters-inspired djinn, creatures that can summon ultimate weapons and improve characters' stats.

The protagonist is a teenager named Isaac who goes on a quest to stop Saturos and Menardi, the villains, from lighting four lighthouses: Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Mercury.
The first party member the player has is Garet, Isaac's childhood friend who lives in the same village. Then will come Ivan from a small town called Vault and later Mia who is a guardian of the Mercury Lighthouse.
Their antagonists are the aforementioned Saturos and Menardi together with Alex, who was Mia's assistant, and Felix. Felix is the brother of Jenna, a girl who grew up with Isaac and Garet. Their village Vale had one terrible storm, they all lived through it but Isaac's father died in order to save the village. Felix was thought to be dead, but Saturos and Menardi saved his life and threatened to kill him if he didn't join them. They only saved him to begin with because he was an Earth Adept.
The storyline in Golden Sun is considered by some to be cliché.
The continuation (and conclusion) of the story started in Golden Sun, The Lost Age features a different protagonist than the first game, this time allowing players to be Felix, one of the antagonists from the original. Although he and his party join forces with Isaac and friends near the conclusion of the game, most of the game is spent roaming the lower continent and the great sea as Felix, Jenna, Sheba, and a Lemurian, Piers.
At this part of the game, you can notice that the characters you were using in the first Golden Sun (Isaac and co.) were really the villains of the game by trying to stop Felix from lighting all the Elemental Lighthouses.
